Destruction of the mosque in Medjedja

The new mosque in Međeđa had been built just before war, to replace the Ottoman-era mosque in the old village of Međeđa, which was lost beneath the waters of the Drina reservoir when the new hydroelectric dam near Višegrad was completed in 1989. The village of Međeđa was relocated to higher ground and a new mosque was built in 1991.
