Beautiful Bosniak girl Jasmina Ahmetspahic, did not allow Bosnian Serb soldiers to rape her, instead she committed suicide by jumping through a window in the Vilina Vlas spa hotel.

These pictures are devastating, but each one is not just a memorial to the individual concerned but also a permanent accusation and reproach against the individuals who were responsible.

The young Bosniak girl I befriended during the war was just as pretty. She was more lucky, she was not raped. But nevertheless she lost her home and most of her male relatives. May future generations of Bosnian (and I mean Bosnian, not just Bosniak!) girls be spared that horror!
